OBLIVION

Oblivion welcomes me

In the dark hours of futility
Will lost, a try meaningless
I waste away in atrophy
While others smile on

Staring into my own eyes
Emptiness stares back at me
My worthless love touches no one
My bleeding heart repugnant to watch

Many battles have I fought and won
In a picture of perfection
I'm tired of fighting pointlessly
Who am I fighting for?

My mind raped by a naive spirit
Thoughts of her still linger
She never deserved my burden
And I never did reach her

Our God of randomness sleeps
While the strong kill the weak
I rooted for Ahab to kill you
But justice you do not seek

Surrounded by companions, I feel alone
I speak but they can't hear
Those who care don't understand
Those who understand don't care

A slimmer of hope hangs elsewhere
The fighter won't let me fall
The coward won't let me jump
And daggers keep raining from the sky

But oblivion welcomes me
